This is not a clasp you hide at the back of a necklace — it is a centrepiece in its own right. This magnificent sterling silver clasp features an intricate scroll-work design encrusted throughout with pavé-set cubic zirconia crystals, with fourteen tiny freshwater button seed pearls set at intervals across the surface, each one nestled within the flowing silver-work like a jewel in a crown. The overall effect is richly decorative, with a quality and complexity of design more reminiscent of fine jewellery than a functional fastening.

The clasp operates with a secure sprung trigger mechanism with the two identical halves interlocking and clicking firmly into place, releasing cleanly with a gentle squeeze. Despite its elaborate appearance it is straightforward to use, making it as practical as it is beautiful.

At approximately 33mm across this is a substantial piece with genuine presence and weight.
