9mm Freshwater Barrel Off Round Pearl Loose String, White-Lilac
These off-round freshwater pearls have a gentle, natural beauty that comes precisely from their imperfection. The colour range across a string is one of their most appealing qualities, unbleached and untreated, the pearls shift from clean bright white through warm ivory and cream to soft silvery-lilac and grey, a palette that occurs naturally and varies from string to string.
The off-round shape gives a finished piece a relaxed, organic rhythm quite different from a uniform round pearl necklace, and the short-dimension drilling means each pearl faces outward at its broadest point when strung. It is worth noting that as naturally cultivated pearls these do show some variation in lustre, with occasional loss of surface lustre at the mid-section — this is characteristic of this grade and is reflected in the price, making them an accessible choice for a naturally beautiful everyday piece.
