6mm Flattened Oval Freshwater Pearl loose string
These beautiful white freshwater pearls are ideal for your jewellery making and stringing projects. The flattened oval or doughnut shape is one of the more unusual and underappreciated pearl forms, and these 6mm white freshwater examples show it at its best. Rather than sitting end-to-end like round or rice pearls, these little discs nestle side by side when strung, their broad flat faces facing outward and their soft white lustre catching the light across a wider surface area than a conventional round pearl of the same size.
The effect when strung is a necklace or bracelet with a gently textured, almost sculptural quality, subtly different from a classic pearl piece, yet every bit as elegant. With an exceptional 90 pearls to a 15-inch string these also represent outstanding value, giving plenty of material for a generous necklace, a bracelet, or a layered multi-strand design.
